Never

Posted by Michael

I love Winston Churchill’s use of the word never.

Never surrender and never give up are some of the main ideas he’s famous for; here’s the text of a speech at HarrowSchool, 29 October 1941:

This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
