England boosted as Jamie George returns for crucial France clash

England have confirmed star hooker Jamie George will return to the wider 35-man training squad for their upcoming clash with France.
George, who was axed as captain ahead of the Championship, missed the Ireland game due to a hamstring issue, however, has been deemed fit to return to Steve Borthwick’s squad to prepare for Le Crunch.

With George back in the picture and fit to take part in full training, it now presents a huge question mark in the front-row. Luke Cowan-Dickie was solid for England despite the defeat to Ireland yesterday evening, and Theo Dan was also given precious Test minutes from the bench, however, George is almost a certainty to return to the 23 in some capacity.
Curtis Langdon is also an option at hooker, as he remains with the squad.
The Saracens man, who has 97 caps to his name at the time of writing and recently passed 300 games for the London club, comes back into the mix as young duo Arthur Clarke and Raffi Quirke pull out due to injuries picked up during England’s training camp in Girona.
Elsewhere, the wider squad remains identical to the one for the Ireland game, however, Henry Pollock is not with the squad due to U20 commitments.
The exact match-day 23 for next weekend’s game will be announced next week.
