‘That’s tier 1 from Georgia’ – GLORIOUS 102m try leaves fans awestruck, reignites Six Nations debate
Georgia have produced a wonderful contender for the try of the year after going the length of the pitch to score a stunner against Australia.
Richard Cockerill’s side were defeated 40-29 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on Saturday but the Lelos produced some memorable moments against the Wallabies, including a sensational try from winger Akaki Tabutsadze.
The Georgian defence managed to rip the ball away from the Wallabies just a metre short of their own try line and quickly shifted it on.
Centre Giorgi Kveseladze spun the ball out to Tabutsadze behind the try line and the winger sped into some space before kicking upfield.
Tabutsadze’s worldie
With the Wallabies tearing back, Tabutsadze sprinted in pursuit and he outpaced both Darby Lancaster and Tom Wright while the ball sat up perfectly for him to regather.
He brilliantly caught the ball and raced over the line to finish off the stunner.

The try sent social media into a frenzy as onlookers praised the Lelos and Tabutsadze, who has a remarkable try-scoring rate in Test rugby, dotting down 39 times in 43 games.
“That’s tier 1 from Georgia. And some,” Andy Rowe wrote on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, with a reply adding: “Absolutely sublime that.”
Simon Thomas added: “Serious wheels from Akaki Tabutsadze against the Wallabies. What a try!”
“You need to flag something this sexy as NSFW,” one commenter joked.
Add Georgia to the Six Nations!
Georgia’s performance against Australia has refuelled the calls for the Lelos to get a shot in the Six Nations.
“They’d do Wales currently. It’ll never happen, but there needs to be promotion relegation between the six nations and the rugby European championships. The wake up call the WRU would need,” one fan wrote.
Another agreed and said: “They totally deserve a shot at the six nations if rugby wants to move forward then they gotta do it”
While there were others who simply wrote “put them in the 6N!”
