Los Pumas name Rodrigo Isgro in Rugby World Cup squad as experienced wing trio miss out

Argentina head coach Michael Cheika has named his squad for the Rugby World Cup, with plenty of expectation the side could have a successful tournament.
Led by the influential Julián Montoya, the hooker is backed up by recent centurion AgustÃn Creevy and Ignacio Ruiz as the three hookers on the plane to France.
The trio are joined by Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, Francisco Gómez Kodela, Joel Sclavi, Thomas Gallo and Eduardo Bello, who are the five props picked in the squad.
Lucas Paulos misses out
MatÃas Alemanno, Tomás Lavanini and Guido Petti are the second-row options named by Los Pumas boss Chieka, with the back-row players consisting of Facundo Isa, Pablo Matera, Juan MartÃn González, Santiago Grondona, Marcos Kremer, Pedro Rubiolo and Rodrigo Bruni, as Lucas Paulos misses out on World Cup selection.
Other notable omissions from the 33 are Santiago Cordero, Sebastien Cancelliere, Bautista Delguy, Matias Orlando and Santiago Medrano as tough calls were made.
Like the hooker spots, there are three scrum-halves in the group as Gonzalo Bertranou, Lautaro Bazán Vélez and Tomás Cubelli can celebrate their World Cup calls.
Santiago Carreras and the vastly experienced Nicolás Sánchez are the fly-half picks, with Carreras having largely impressed during the 2023 Rugby Championship.
Cheika plumps for Santiago Chocobares, Lucio Cinti, Jerónimo de la Fuente and MatÃas Moroni as his centres, with the quartet in impressive form at the moment.
Finally, the back three players in the 33-player line-up are Emiliano Boffelli, Juan Cruz MallÃa, Mateo Carreras, Juan Imhoff, Rodrigo Isgró and MartÃn Bogado. Those six players provide a nice balance of youth and experience, with Isgró’s debut effort in the Rugby Championship seemingly catching head coach Cheika’s eye.
The squad breakdown sees most ply their trade in the Top 14, with the Premiership just behind before the United Rugby Championship and other leagues feature.
Argentina begin their World Cup campaign against England on September 9 before facing Samoa (September 22), Chile (September 30) and Japan (October 8).
