Rory Darge: Glasgow Warriors flanker to miss Scotland’s autumn Tests due to injury

Glasgow Warriors and Scotland have been dealt a huge blow after the United Rugby Championship outfit confirmed that Rory Darge will be sidelined for several months through an ankle injury.
The 22-year-old sustained the injury during the first half of the Warriors’ 52-24 victory over Cardiff at Scotstoun on Friday night and will miss Scotland’s Autumn Nations Series Test against Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina later this year.
Darge was caught in an awkward position at the bottom of a ruck and after a lengthy stoppage, he was taken to hospital for treatment and had to have an operation.
Glasgow Warriors issued a statement on their official website which said: “Rory Darge received surgery following the ankle injury sustained in the early stages of the match against Cardiff Rugby on Friday night.
Successful surgery
“The surgery was successful and Darge will now begin rehabilitation that will see him out of action for several months.”
The injury is a massive setback for Darge, who made his international debut in Scotland‘s 20-17 defeat to Wales in their Six Nations Test in Cardiff earlier this year.
The openside flanker enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Warriors during their 2021/22 campaign after joining them from Edinburgh.
